First off, we must make sure that the title is correctly understood. There are no dragonflies in this game. Dragon Fly is about sliding as far as you can before mommy catches you. It's all in good spirit though.

The game has you, a dragon hatchling, getting away from your nest and exploring the two-dimensional world that lies before you. A dragon has naturally lubricated belly, so as long as surfaces are smooth, it can glide like slay on snow and gather enough speed to propel into the air after climbing a ramp.

That is, in essence, all that you do in Dragon Fly. The only control is tapping and holding when you want to stick to the ground, and doing nothing when you're concerned with gaining altitude.

The longer you go, you will discover new worlds (i.e., different colored hills). But during your run, you can also pick up diamonds and potions. Potions give you a special boost when you pick them, but diamonds accumulate and can be used to purchase more potions from the in-app purchase store.

The tutorial part can be a bit frustrating, as it doesn't allow any experimentation. It tells you exactly when to tap and when to release, which, if we were to think about it, spoils the fun of figuring it out on your own.

Final Thoughs

Dragon Fly is a decent time waster. There aren't many incentives to get higher scores except to slide and glide over new "worlds." The gameplay is one-hand-compatible, which makes it suitable for crowded spaces or while driving.
